Athens, November 1, 2010 – Professor Linos collaborated with journalist Ms. Niki Psaltis on an article about the new surgical techniques without scar for the October issue of “VITA” health magazine.
Specifically, the article titled “Minimal invasive surgeries” presented innovative surgical methods with little or no incisions. Among others robotic thyroidectomy without neck incision, which was first applied by Dr.Linos team in Greece and Europe, thyroidectomy with small incision in the neck (minimally invasive thyroidectomy) and retroperitoneal adrenalectomy were described.
Dr.Linos also spoke about the single port laparoscopy surgery, which uses the hub as a single point of entry into the abdomen, as well as the new type of minimal invasive surgical procedure, which is currently being researched and studied called Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgeries (NOTES).
Other prominent professors and doctors contributed to the article as well, such as Professor of Cardiology Christodoulos Stefanadis and Cardiac Surgeon Dr. Stratis Pattakos.
