The 52nd Annual Conference of the International Surgical Group (International Surgical Group, ISG) was held in Louisville, Kentucky, U.S. from September 28 until October 2, 2010.
Professor Linos took part in scientific and social activities of the annual meeting of the International Society and was a guest speaker on “Minimally Invasive Thyroidectomy: Many Lies-a few truths”. In further, Dr.Linos presented different techniques for minimally invasive thyroidectomy developed, outlining the advantages and disadvantages, based on his extensive experience. The International Surgical Group (ISG), composed of brilliant scientists and internationally highly praised surgeons from around the world who exchange opinions and ideas on the latest developments in surgery. Then, Dr.Linos flew to Washington to participate in the 96th Annual Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons (American College of Surgeons, ACS), held from 3 to 7 October.
During the conference, and in recognition of his valuable action, Prof. Linos was elected Chairman of the Selection Subcommittee Scholars (Scholar Selection Subcommittee) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) with the objective to contribute even more in the field of international education and training young surgeons. In addition, Prof. Linos attended the meetings of the International Relations (International Relations Committee) and the Subcommittee on Selection Scholars (Scholar Selection Subcommittee) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) which is an active member. He also participated in meetings of the Program Committee (Program Committee) and International Affairs (Global Affairs Committee) of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), which took place in the annual Clinical Congress.
